Preservation Efforts
CCHA has taken an active role in efforts to preserve Chatham’s architectural heritage and history. These efforts have taken a number of forms and have met with considerable success.  
Chatham County Cemetery Survey
Since 1989 volunteers have visited hundreds of Chatham County burial sites to record information about each cemetery and all of the individual gravestones located there—all in an effort to save at least some information about these fragile remnants of Chatham’s history.

Opened by the Chatham County Historical Association in 1990. Information on the collections, exhibits, and visiting hours.
Log Cabin Log Cabin Reconstruction Project
Since 1999, the Chatham County Historical Association has been reconstructing log cabins in Pittsboro.
Charles Manly's law books Charles Manly's Law Office
The1842 law office of Charles Manly has been preserved by the Chatham County Historical Association and is available for visiting.
