The Chatham County Historical Association gathers two types of information through its website. The first is routine statistical information gathered as visitors browse through our site, and the second is personal information voluntarily supplied by visitors.
When you visit our site, we do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily choose to provide us with the information. However, some services on the site require that you furnish personal information. Examples include purchasing items from our online store, answering surveys, registering to receive electronic newsletters, or becoming a member of CCHA. In connection with your use of such services, you may be asked to provide contact information (such as your name, address, phone number and e-mail address), financial information (such as your credit card type, number and expiration date) and demographic information (such as your zip code or age). Credit card information is used only for your intended purchase (i.e., store purchase, membership purchase or donation) and is processed by a secure service called AffiniPay. Contact information is used to respond to your inquiries and to send products and services requested from our website.
The purpose of CCHA’s email list is to keep you updated on exhibits, events, and special offers. The information you provide us will be kept confidential, and CCHA will not sell, rent, or share your email address with other organizations. You may modify or cancel your subscription at any time.
The security of your financial information (credit card type, number and expiration date) is a primary concern of CCHA. We have security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Credit card information is transmitted in an encrypted format to help protect it against unauthorized use.
CCHA will not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 without first gaining consent from a parent or guardian. If your child sends us an email with a question or request for information (such as information on Chatham history for a school project), we will respond using his or her email. We urge parents and guardians to participate in their children’s online activities.
As a service to visitors, our website contains links to other sites. The linked sites are not under the control of CCHA, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the contents of any linked site. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by chathamhistory.org.
From time to time, we may make changes to our information-gathering practices or alter the way our website functions. We will update this statement accordingly, and we encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on privacy practices on our website.
