Pre-reading shared by Maggie @brambly_creek_homeschool.
Books seem to go hand in hand with summer. Whether you're at the beach or pool, or if you just have extra hours in the evening, it's so enjoyable to use the slower summer days to fit in some extra reading.
When you're a homeschooling parent, summer reading can also include pre-reading books for the upcoming school year! Over the years, we've enjoyed using the summer months to pre-read in a leisurely way, while knowing it will help us to go into the fall feeling more prepared.
We had such a great discussion about pre-reading at last month's Summer Planning Chat -- members shared so many helpful tips for planning! If you haven't watched it yet, we recommend listening in the next few weeks, and working through the Summer Planning Course, too.
We want to know which books you're pre-reading! Let us know in the comments and feel free to add any tips for pre-reading and summer planning that you’ve found helpful. We’d also love to hear if you’re implementing any ideas from our Planning Chat in June!
